Athlete Agent Services

What is NIL? On June 30, 2021, the NCAA Board of Directors approved an interim name, image and likeness (NIL) policy. This new policy allows all NCAA D1, D2 and D3 student-athletes to be compensated for their NIL as of July 1, 2021. This means the NCAA is required to give every student-athlete access to competent representation.
Why choose Minnesota Legal Defense to represent me or my son/daughter? While it might seem easier to just have a relative or close friend represent you, it is not in your best interest. Minnesota Legal Defense gives you the protection of being represented by a lawyer, as well as the assurance that comes from the fiduciary responsibility of the attorney-client relationship. Not only do you get legal protection built into every representation agreement, but our team includes an MBA-educated expert who has worked for nearly a decade on college campuses and knows how to market the student athlete.
Will it cost me a lot to hire Minnesota Legal Defense? No. In fact, Minnesota Legal Defense only gets paid, if you get paid. Which means that it benefits the client in two ways: 1) you pay nothing up front; and 2) the only way Minnesota Legal Defense earns its fee is by getting you (or your child) the very best financial rewards.
